WELCOME TO GTA MAVERICKS

Here, we believe that basketball is more than just a sport. Instead, it is a powerful tool that pushes children to grow in life and enhances our community as a whole. Accordingly, we provide a variety of unique basketball programs year-round for all ages and skill levels to enjoy.

At GTA Mavericks, we see beyond the child. We see young individuals who aspire to improve themselves and will put in the work and effort to achieve their goals. What we do is provide our participants with the necessary tools, mentors, and experiences to assist them in becoming successful student-athletes and the best person they can be.

We seek to show kids the importance of self-confidence and perseverance, values which are indispensable for basketball and a great deal of other things in life.

Mishel Schwartz
Mishel SchwartzFounder / President
Mishel has been passionate about basketball his whole life. He started playing from a young age and worked his way up to represent Toronto at the Maccabi games where he competed with other star athletes from around the world and gained a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Prior to founding GTA Mavericks, Mishel was a prominent key to the growth of Thornhill Thunder where he served as the House League Coordinator and Coach. He also worked in many leadership positions at the UJA Federation where he headed many youth initiatives and received invaluable experience working with kids. Needless to say, Mishel is a skilled strategist and leader with the capacity to grow GTA Mavericks into an elite player development centre.

After multiple successful entrepreneurial ventures, Mishel decided to start GTA Mavericks in order to help kids pursue their passions and talents, on and off the court.

Carlos brings a wealth of experience, having collaborated with accomplished professionals from the NBA, WNBA, and Euroleague. Now, he is imparting his expertise straight from Spain to help set new standards of coaching at GTA Mavericks.
